|Genk, Belgium, has a long standing tradition of running fine events, including big International contests and even a European Championships. The site was purpose built with three perfect concrete circles for Speed, Aerobatics, and Team Race, plus ample grass area for Combat. Alas two circles fell victim due to green requirements, so only the stunt events can be flown now.|
Aerobatics is run on a huge RC asphalt area there’s plenty of space
for beginner events, practice flights, and plain fun flying. If the weather
is fine there are usually five circles active at the same time, so everybody
can enjoy flying to ones heart’s content.
This time the weather didn’t cooperate quite as desired with alternating sun and drizzle and some bad gusts, even causing some pilots to break off their flight. The contest ran smoothly in a relaxed manner, thanks to Salvatore Barile. Without him there would be no contest in Genk. Thanks a lot, Salvatore !
